"Color in the Afternoon," is the name of today's painting. I really enjoyed painting this one. An interesting note in the process was that it was a discipline to work in the abstract, with rough brushes for as long as possible.
Only at the end, was it useful to get a small detail brush, and refine the edges. The function is that I was able to keep things loose and impressionistic, while not quite sloppy.
I think I'll use the same techniques when I work on "Cinder" this evening.

Seth Godin - Purple Cow
I listened to this audiobook while I was painting today. Seth's concept of a Purple Cow is about creating something remarkable, as opposed to depending on conventional marketing strategies. -- Regardless of what field you're in, I think you might benefit from these ideas, as long as you're interfacing with the market.
