Major Arcana XVIII - The Moon
Witches, artists and dreamers are fond of the moon, but it's a love / hate relationship. The Moon stands for Bewilderment, Fear, and Illusion. It's possible to see a version of truth through moonlight, but the night is inherently less absolute in its definition of things.
In etymological / mythological / symbolic thinking, we have interesting words which show a link into this archetype:
Different phases of the moon correlating with different levels of clarity and intensity.
The Blood Mysteries are also a topic that will hold inherent significance for women, and peripheral significance for men.
All of the power, fear, seduction, illusion, and reality that's behind the lunar archetype is an element of life that we don't really have a choice but to enjoy. The next time you're walking late at night, and you get an intuitively strange feeling -- like you might have stepped into a twilight zone -- try to relax and appreciate it.
You've just wandered into the domain of The Moon. -- NBD.
Like all things, this too shall pass.
