Periodically, when I plot out my new agenda for the next project, I speculate as to what might happen if I did something incredible.
"If I finished my client work in a record of seven days, by doing nothing but write all day, every day from now until X day of next week, -- Then, I might achieve some reward, and that would change everything."
I do this on a monthly basis, I'm sure.
It would be nice if I made a commitment to slow, steady, quality growth, and set more lenient goals for myself. I might still have the opportunity to be the Übermensch, but, chances are I'll have a better time of it.
I might actually meet my ship dates as well.
The Ship It Journal - Seth Godin made this Free PDF. I'm not sure if I've recommended it to you before, but I used it to plan out Cinder. I wasn't quite realistic enough with my work load goals, but I was close, and I think this helped.
I'll be using it for my next project.
